Rebecca came back to us earlier this year following some time away since the first lockdown. She has come on leaps and bounds since she joined.
Rebecca is 19 and has Autism.
She has had a tough 12 months because her Autism made her fear Zoom. She struggles to communicate and the thought of using video to do this was just too much.
Rebecca joined our Christmas Party on Zoom to try it out, sat in the background and watched the others. She LOVED it! She then started to join our other adventures- choir, Zumba, Friday Live and Cookery.
She loves baking and had impressed me so much I asked her if she would like to be our Cookery Rep. YES she answered, I would love that! She started to co-host the Virtual Kitchen sessions and excelled.
Rebecca decided that after 5 years she wanted to get back on her bike and raise some funds for Creating Adventures. She has set herself a challenge of 50KM over a number of weeks. She is 30Km in and has raised £540 so far.
She also loves to create posters using the PC. I met with her on Zoom and gave her access to our Canva account to try out. She has sent me a poster this morning of her design to invite others to join us.
Wow this young lady has come so far and finding inner talents all because we encouraged and believed in her and she started to believe in herself.
