Bold as Brass Band

We started our Bold as Brass Brass Band in October 2022 after we delivered some summer workshops as taster sessions and found that we have a great amount of interest in our Brass Band activity. We then started to form a Brass Band with the support of Jacky Keating acquiring donated instruments through schools she worked with in Helsby and Frodsham. Jacky teaches brass in secondary schools and also formed and leads the Helsby Brass Concert Band therefore bringing a great deal of support with her when needed. 

Our members started right from the very beginning, how to hold a brass instrument, what valves represented which notes and how to play the instrument and produce a sound. 

We now have a fully-fledged brass band and the members have done amazing learning to play and read music and sound amazing too! That doesn’t mean that we are not looking for more members and volunteers to join us though so if this is something you would like to join in with, please get in touch.
