Summer Members Lounge Disco

We always like to theme a few of the monthly discos in line with seasonal themes or events. Our Summer Party is exactly that, a party based on the theme of summer. Think Hawaiian shirts, beach dresses, cocktails, beach balls and all things summer and beach. Our members love it and it gives them a lift especially if they haven’t been lucky enough to have had a holiday. This year we will holding our Summer Party at our home ‘Orford Community Hub’ and will transform the room into a balmy nights beach party.

‘Our daughter Catherine joined in with the Creating Adventures activities 2 and a half years ago starting with the cookery sessions. She absolutely loves these and has just begun to try cooking at home. She has learnt to work with others in the group which is great, as she can be inclined to be a little solitary. Catherine is hypotonic and her fine motor skills have improved with practise in chopping etc, and her general adroitness has increased. She has gained confidence in her ability to produce something beyond tinned soup and toast! More recently Catherine joined the choir (after a lot of persuasion) and is really enjoying that too. Again, she is becoming part of a group of peers, and this has increased her confidence too. As her parents, we enjoy watching her become more independent and form relationships outside the family circle.’
