Over the cookery sessions we have seen the adults’ confidence grow massively, their skills become more refined and their passion for cooking their own food flourish. This got us thinking, how can we showcase their newfound talents in a creative and exciting way? What about a Creating Adventures Cookbook?
We worked hard to pull this together and were proud that it was ready and printed just in time for Christmas with the help of our cookbook sponsors Greencore Warrington. Not only have they supported us in the printing of the book but they have given the adults the opportunity to cook in a professional kitchen. We reached out to local papers such as Warrington Worldwide and The Warrington Guardian to spread the word in the community.
One journalist saw the cover of the story and liked it that much that they gave us a wonderful opportunity – to be interviewed live on Sky News Breakfast! On Tuesday 20th December 2022 at 9:45am, Jenny and one of our members Beck had the honor of speaking about our cookbook with Niall Paterson.
Our sales shot up, our website visits increased, and we had some generous donators call in over the phone – What a result and a brilliant way to end the year, shining a well-deserved spotlight on our chefs as well as raising awareness for Creating Adventures.
We cannot thank our generous supporters, sponsors and funders of our cookery sessions and we look forward to putting all the profits from the sale of our cookbook back into our Recipe For Success activity.
